Sedona

We took our Saturday to make a day trip to Sedona, AZ. This is a place we had been before, but we wanted to do something fun and find some water so we drove there. We had so much fun looking at the beautiful red rocks. We also went to Slide Rock State Park where we dipped our feet in Oak Creek, but then it started to thunder and rain so we had to head out. We stopped on the way home for some homemade icecream. Trey is still a great traveller - he just goes with the flow.

brrrr.... the water was cold - he wasn't too sure what to think

18 months and a trip to San Diego

Trey turned 18 months old at the end of April. We took him to the pediatrician for his well check up - he weighs 22 lb 12 oz (12% for his age) and is 30 1/2 inches (also 12% for his age). He keeps us busy, and we love it. He loves to go to church and play with his friends in the nursery. He still only says 3 words - Daddy, Mama, and Tey (for Trey). I really think he could say more if he wanted to but those are his 3 words for now. We've been reading more Dr. Seuss books to him to help him with more words, but he isn't really too interested in talking right now. I figure that if he can say his name, then he is capable of much more. Just like walking, he will talk in his own time - when he's ready.

This was one night when I was getting ready for work - he wanted to take his bath, so he put his toys in the tub then climbed in the tub and proceeded to play with his toys - all that was missing was the water

We took a spontaneous last minute trip to San Diego in mid-May to get away from the Phoenix heat. We got a great room on Priceline.com at 70% off the published price, so that was great. Our hotel was right on the harbor, so we had an amazing view. It was just fun to get away and spend time together. The water was really cold, so we didn't do much more than stick our feet in the ocean.

We visited the Cabrillo National Monument while in San Diego - this was the view from the coast. It also had a lighthouse that we explored.

So this is Trey's new favorite thing to do when he is out of the stroller - he loves to help push it. He will also do this when we are at a store with a shopping cart. It slows us down a bit, but it sure gets a lot of energy out for him.

This was our bargain room with a balcony. We had so much fun.

The view from our hotel.

This was at La Jolla Beach.

Our room was a bargain, but the parking was $26 a night. So David found us a free parking spot a couple streets away - he would park the car there, and then pick us up at the hotel. You can see the hotel in the background. One of the many things I love about David is his being careful wtih the money God has entrusted to us and trying to use it as wisely as possible.

My first and only craving of my pregnancy was french onion soup - David found some for me. He was relieved that I could stop asking him for it, and I was excited to eat it!

Our room had a big shower, so Trey had fun playing in the shower every night - he stayed in there at least 30 minutes every night and was sad to get out. He loved the water pouring down on him. He entertained himself with his bath wash bottle and a plastic Holiday Inn cup. He loves to take showers with one of us at home too.

Trey loves to watch his Daddy work. He loves to help when he can too.

Our new baby

We feel very blessed and thankful that God has chosen us to be parents to a new little life. We are excited to meet our new baby around December 15. Trey is excited to be a big brother too (or at least we think he looks excited whenever we mention "baby" in our happy voices). :-) When we ask him where the baby is, he lifts my shirt up (always) and kisses my belly button - super cute!

Please pray that God will help our baby to grow healthy and strong. At 9 weeks this week, I am feeling extremely tired and nauseated throughout much of the day - not a huge deal but I do need prayer for strength and stamina as I continue to work full time nights for now.
